The Psychology and Meaning of Colors

#1
I haven't posted anything on this site for a bit. Thought I would add some information about color and how it affects people on an emotional level. And symbolism too. Your own thoughts on what your favorite colors mean to you would be good to talk about.

What is it about the rainbow that gives most people a sense of happiness? Sure, it signifies the calm after a storm, but the colors themselves have an effect on our minds.

There is a reason why people prefer certain colors over others. This preference says volumes about our personalities, because each color has an association with a reaction our brain has when we internalize it.

Color psychology is a well-known, yet less explored branch of the study of how our brain perceives what it visualizes. As far as scientific research goes, there is not much to work with. However, the impact that colors have on our brains is used to manipulate our decision making by multiple facets of society.

This is just a small listing associating adjectives for a few colors. Psychology and marketing play a huge role in advertising the value of a product in the minds eye. It adds a certain level of enchantment when people see bright colors to enhance their emotional levels. One must be aware of how these things affect the mind and spirit. Because you can be sure that psychologists and marketers of all sorts know these things fully. They are well practiced at using the rainbow to further wicked agendas and sell cheap plastic products to an unsuspecting public.

Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering.

Good subject. Emotions and colors of the rainbow. The historical symbolism of the rainbow is interesting also. I was doing a little research into that. There are the religious ones to look at. Plus the cultural aspects through time. Whether or not a rainbow should have 5,6, or 7 colors....it's probably infinite anyhow. But, surfing around the idea came of the analogy of the rainbow and musical scale. They correspond so well together. So it brought me to musical traditions around the world. Here's a page giving a little info on that:

Nice mnemonic

Real rainbows are nice. Timing and awareness of the elements that need to come together lets one witness them more often.

The above link was bad...so here it is again:

Makes a good basic framework to build on. What does a rainbow sound like?
