Halloween Tricks and Treats

These are illusion costumes that make people say: "That's cool! How'd you do that?"
 
You can make most of these Halloween costumes yourselves, although some might stretch your maker skills. All of them are the types of disguises that fool people, and even if they do figure out how it's done, sometimes the deception is so strong that, like an effective optical illusion, people can't help but see the illusion instead of the reality. And what's better for Halloween?

That's even better.  Economy!  Save your money for Christmas, instead.

 

Don’t worry if you don’t have a great deal of time to spend on constructing your costume — the vast majority of these looks can be pulled together in an evening or less. Get the kids to help with their own outfits and accessories, and have them make their own trick-or-treating goody bags by decorating paper sacks from the grocery store (create makeshift handles by stapling twine, ribbon or doubled-over duct tape at the top of the bag).
