Basic AI Prompt Improving Logic Do This For Best Results - statusquo - 03-02-2025

AI is the future whether we like it or not. Here is a very basic example of how to improve your results. By prompt, in this context, I mean simply "How to ask better questions getting better results?" or "What questions do I ask and how to improve my results". In coming posts I shall add a logical AI structure of terminology to use for more advanced sub routines and code structures. For now, this is just a simple example of how to improve results with prompts using AI:

This example here should illuminate things better for all:

AI Used Google Gemini 2.0

YOU: Please improve the following prompt for transcriptions generating optimal in depth insightful analysis :

"Please summarize the following transcription outlining all key points of discussion conclude summary with detailed breakdown of its entirety. Then list any author book or historical person references at the conclusion"

Output

You're on the right track! Here's how we can significantly enhance that prompt to get deeper, more insightful analyses from transcriptions:

Improved Prompt Options (Choose based on your specific needs):

Option 1: Focused on Argument & Nuance
"Analyze the following transcription, focusing on the speaker(s)' core arguments, supporting evidence, and underlying assumptions. Identify and explain any nuanced points, potential biases, and areas of ambiguity. Provide a comprehensive summary that goes beyond a simple overview, highlighting the relationships between ideas and the overall trajectory of the discussion. Conclude with a detailed breakdown of the transcription's structure and flow, and list all references to authors, books, historical figures, or specific events mentioned."

Option 2: Emphasis on Context & Implications

"Provide an in-depth analysis of the following transcription, considering the context in which it was produced. Identify the main themes, key arguments, and any implicit or explicit goals of the speaker(s). Discuss the potential implications of the ideas presented, and consider how they might relate to broader social, political, or intellectual trends. Deliver a summary that captures the essence of the discussion while also examining its significance. Conclude with a detailed structural overview and a list of all references to authors, books, historical figures, or specific events."

Option 3: Actionable Insights & Critical Evaluation

"Critically evaluate the following transcription, identifying the speaker(s)' primary claims and the evidence used to support them. Assess the validity of their arguments, identify any logical fallacies, and consider alternative perspectives. Extract actionable insights or key takeaways from the discussion. Provide a comprehensive summary that highlights the strengths and weaknesses of the presented ideas. Conclude with a structural breakdown of the transcription and a list of all referenced authors, books, historical figures, or specific events."

Key Improvements and Why They Matter:

"Analyze" Instead of "Summarize": Shifts the focus from simple recapitulation to deeper understanding and interpretation.
Specific Instructions: Asking for "core arguments," "supporting evidence," "underlying assumptions," "nuanced points," and "potential biases" guides the AI to look beyond surface-level information.
Contextual Awareness: Prompts that ask for "context" and "implications" encourage the AI to consider the broader significance of the discussion.
Critical Evaluation: Including terms like "critically evaluate," "logical fallacies," and "alternative perspectives" promotes a more discerning and thoughtful analysis.
"Detailed Breakdown of Structure and Flow": This ensures the AI understands the organization of the transcription, not just its content.
"Implicit or Explicit Goals": This helps uncover the intent of the speaker.
"Actionable Insights or Key Takeaways": This helps produce a useful result.

To further refine your prompt, you can add:

Specific areas of focus: If you're interested in a particular aspect of the discussion (e.g., its ethical implications), specify that in your prompt.
Desired tone: Do you want a neutral, objective analysis, or a more critical or interpretive one?
Target audience: Specifying the intended audience can help the AI tailor its response appropriately.
Word count or length restrictions.

By using these improved prompts, you'll be able to get much more insightful and comprehensive analyses of your transcriptions.
