What's Wrong With Public Video Surveillance? - CedricRose - 02-08-2022 Although the ACLU has no objection to cameras at specific, high-profile public places that are potential terrorist targets, such as the U.S. Capitol, the impulse to blanket our public spaces and streets with video surveillance is a bad idea. Here are four reasons why:  https://www.aclu.org/whats-wrong-public-video-surveillance  Now I've got an interest in these little buggers. That all seeing eye is everywhere. I got one of those red light tickets in the mail and I don't remember running any red light. Now I can't go out to the mailbox without being afraid of getting more papers telling me I owe money to someone or something out there. So, I've been reading around about this crap. How much does it cost to install and maintain these devices?  The video surveillance market continues to see robust growth with more cameras being installed today than ever before, as organizations, businesses and governments desire to deter, protect, prosecute and predict with their surveillance systems.  http://emergingtechblog.emc.com/3-big-market-opportunities-for-video-surveillance-1-file-system/  Video surveillance is big business. Expect it to get bigger.  http://fortune.com/2013/04/26/the-great-surveillance-boom/    What's Wrong With Public Video Surveillance? - Guest - 02-08-2022 Quote:Hidden cameras are great.
