Were you aware that in the years 1899 and 1900 there were more electric automobiles sold in this country than either gas or steam-powered vehicles?  At the time, electric cars apparently had many advantages over their competitors.  They did not have the vibration, smell and noise associated with gasoline.  Changing gears on gasoline cars was the most difficult part of driving, while electric cars did not require gear changes.

In another time line history took the electric route. Powering all kinds of transportation methods across the land. Kerosene is ancient chemistry and gasoline remained the waste product of a dying industry. 

Rockefeller and his cronies in all their ancient wisdom decided to crush electricity. Why use electric powered machines if you have a ready made product to feed a combustion engine. Along with that prick JP Morgan. He had Edison by the balls. Why let Tesla's ideas of free electricity take root when you can meter each pulse down to last penny?

Why not meter the appliances as well?
