Psychology and graphic designing are much more related than you may think. Whether it is print designing or web designing, psychology is everywhere to some extent. Let’s see how one of the famous theories in psychology, Gestalt Principles, is applied in logo designing.
 
Gestalt theories, which attempt to understand the laws of perception, hold a popular belief, “The whole is other (or greater) than the sum of the parts”. This means that the “whole” has a completely different reality and meaning than what the independent parts (when separated) would mean. Confusing? Let’s see some real life applications of gestaltism in graphic designing for some clarification.
